To request a preferred delivery date, please use the comment box just before checking out. Please note, that we will deliver as close to this date as possible.
The size of the turkey you should buy depends on the number of guests you’re expecting to feed. As a general rule, you should plan for about 0.5kg to 0.75kg of turkey per person (this accounts for bone weight and provides ample leftovers).
Bronze Turkeys, a heritage breed from the 18th Century, were developed by crossing wild turkeys with European domesticated birds. Their dark plumage and coppery sheen resemble their wild origins, and they flourish in outdoor, grassland pastures giving them that extra flavour!
During his time on the throne, King Henry VIII decided to swap out his traditional goose for a turkey on Christmas day. After this, King Edward VII took to the delicacy and popularised having turkeys for Christmas. Since this time, it rapidly became a tradition amongst people in Britain and hence why we eat turkey on the 25th December now!
