Owton’s steak mince is made from higher quality cuts of locally sourced British beef, giving it a richer flavour and firmer texture compared to regular mince. It’s freshly prepared by our butchers for a premium result in every dish.
This mince is incredibly versatile. It works beautifully in lasagne, bolognese, meatballs, chilli, cottage pie, or even homemade burgers. It also holds up well in slow-cooked recipes for deeper flavour.
Yes, you can. We recommend freezing the mince on the day it arrives to lock in freshness. Once frozen, it will keep for up to 3 months and is ideal for batch cooking or meal prep.
For great flavour and texture, cook the mince in a hot pan until browned and cooked through. Season generously and build your dish from there. Avoid overcrowding the pan so the meat sears instead of steams.

Owton’s Top Tips!
Our 2.25kg pack of Smoked Back Bacon is perfect for bacon lovers, weekend breakfasts, or keeping the freezer stocked. Each rasher is properly cured and gently smoked for a deep, savoury flavour, crisp at the edges, juicy in the middle!
Whether you’re pan-frying, grilling, or oven-baking, this bacon delivers every time. Ideal for full English breakfasts, bacon butties, or wrapping around chicken, sausages, or burgers. It’s also great chopped into pasta, soups, or salads for an extra hit of flavour.
Store in the fridge and use within a few days, or portion and freeze for easy meal planning.
While the exact number can vary slightly depending on thickness, a 2.25kg pack typically includes around 45 to 50 thick-cut rashers. It’s a generous supply ideal for batch cooking, freezing, or feeding a crowd at breakfast time.
For a crispy texture, cook the bacon in a hot pan or under the grill, turning occasionally. If cooking in the oven, lay rashers on a wire rack above a tray and bake at 200°C (fan) for 12 to 15 minutes. This method allows fat to drain off and the bacon to crisp evenly.
Yes, the pack is perfect for freezing in smaller portions. We recommend dividing the bacon into freezer bags or wrapping a few rashers at a time before freezing. Defrost overnight in the fridge and cook as usual. Once thawed, use within 24 hours.
Our bacon is traditionally smoked for a rich, full-bodied flavour and cut thicker than most supermarket options. It’s prepared by skilled butchers using premium British pork, delivering superior taste and texture with every slice.
