When it comes to a proper roast, you can’t go wrong with cuts like topside, silverside, or rolled brisket – these joints hold their shape and slice beautifully! If you’re looking to impress, go for a rib of beef or a whole fillet, as they’re tender, flavour-packed, and perfect for special occasions.
We take pride in sourcing our cows from British farms we know and trust. Many of our cuts come from Chalcroft Farm in Hampshire, where the cattle are raised with care to give that sweet, meaty flavour you won’t find anywhere else. It’s proper British beef, butchered the traditional way.
It’s all about quality, care and tradition. Our beef comes from trusted British farms, mostly right here in Hampshire on our very own Chalcroft Farm, where the cattle are reared to high welfare standards. You’ll notice the difference straight away – less water, more flavour and a proper butcher’s cut that cooks beautifully. Plus, why not visit one of our farm shops to see our beef in all its glory yourself!?
Our beef comes vacuum packed to keep its freshness, so it’ll last around 2-3 days once opened (just make sure it’s kept in the coldest part of your fridge and avoid cross contamination). Or if you’re not planning to cook it straight away, freeze it on the day of delivery to keep it at its best. Always check the use-by date.
Yes, every cut of beef at Owton’s is freshly prepared by our butchers to make sure you get the best quality and flavour. We don’t pre-pack or store our meat for days on en, each order is cut just right, packed with care and sent out ready for your next meal. That’s the difference you get from a proper, family-run butcher.
