About The Cut
Pork Steaks
Pork steaks are typically cut from the shoulder or loin of the pig – known for their rich taste and tender texture, these steaks are ideal for grilling, pan-frying or BBQing. They cook relatively quickly (be careful not to overcook them) and pair well with a wide range of seasonings and marinades. Pork steaks are versatile and suitable for both casual weeknight dinners and special occasions, delivering a tasty meal every time!
Owton’s Top Tips!
Looking for a quick-cook cut that’s full of flavour? Our Pork Steaks (2 x 200–230g) are lean, juicy and hand-cut from premium British pork, perfect for midweek meals or firing up the BBQ. For best results, bring to room temperature, season with salt, pepper and a little oil, then pan-fry or grill over medium-high heat for 4–5 minutes per side until golden and cooked through (70°C internal temp is the sweet spot).
Pork steaks love a good marinade, try honey and mustard, smoky BBQ or garlic and soy for an easy flavour boost. Serve with creamy mash, grilled veg or pop in a bun with slaw for a tasty alternative to burgers. Store in the fridge for 2–3 days or freeze individually for easy portioning.
Our Chinese marinade is a flavour-packed blend of soy sauce, garlic, ginger, five-spice, and a touch of sweetness—designed to complement the natural richness of the pork. It creates a perfect balance of savoury and aromatic flavours, ideal for grilling or pan-frying.
For best results, grill or pan-fry on medium-high heat for 5–7 minutes per side, depending on thickness. Let the steaks rest for a few minutes before serving to keep them tender and juicy. They also cook beautifully in an air fryer or under the grill.
Yes, the pork steaks can be frozen with the marinade. Freeze on the day of delivery and defrost fully in the fridge before cooking. Once thawed, cook within 24 hours and do not refreeze.
These steaks pair perfectly with egg-fried rice, stir-fried vegetables, or noodles for an Asian-inspired meal. For a more traditional BBQ feel, try them with corn on the cob, coleslaw, and roasted new potatoes.

Preheat your oven to 200°C (fan) and cook the pigs in blankets on a baking tray lined with parchment paper for 20–25 minutes, turning once halfway through. For crispier bacon, place them on a wire rack above the tray so heat circulates underneath.
Definitely! While they’re a staple at Christmas dinner, pigs in blankets make a brilliant party appetiser, buffet item, or even a breakfast treat. Try serving them with mustard dips, wrapping them in puff pastry for mini sausage rolls, or adding them to festive brunch platters.
Yes, our pigs in blankets can be frozen. Freeze them on the day of delivery if you’re not using them immediately. To cook from frozen, add an extra 5–10 minutes to the oven time and ensure they are piping hot throughout before serving.
